Go green and flourish your home with natural elements. This modern kitchen softens the green with timber cladding and a textured white bench-top. The modern lifestyle requires us to be in front of screens and pixelated lights for majority of the day, interior design has seen a need to increase positive energy throughout the home. This translates to many homes being crowded with indoor plant displays, natural timbers and earthy tones. From lush forests, soft pistachio to neo mint; you can create a grounding and calm space to return to by inviting the outdoors in and creating an oasis of your making from a splash of colour.

2. Blue Lagoon

The ocean has inspired 2020’s colour forecasts, bathed in blue and green this year will invigorate any space in the home. Mixing mineral and natural textures with light azures and deep navy’s reaffirms that ocean-inspired hues calm minds and add fluidity within zones. Every shade from white to warm earthy tones can be mixed with this hue, which makes it easy to incorporate furnishings from different eras. Adding soft curves and elegant lines, will make a masterpiece out of your new blue additions.

Sand, clay, terracotta, brick…the list goes on. Natural materials are used to reinforce and strength homes and structures, however the tonal palette of these pieces are becoming just as important on the inside. The terracotta tiling that runs up the wall balances the light and bright white cabinetry of the kitchen. These staples are also being shaped into lighter shades and darker shades that create warmer ambiences. These soft neutrals create a sense of relaxation in a space, often combined with gold and coral touches to add a sense of luxury.

4. Muted Pastels

Palm Springs and breezy pool resorts have dominated interior design for years, and they continue to come back. This muted palette is complemented by natural materials like marble, white linens, pale timber and joinery as well as brass fittings. The soft apricot pinks and light blues mesh perfectly to create an open atmosphere. Use muted colours to achieve an effortlessly cool ambience, while adding a unique spin on a neutral palette.

5. Terra-Brown

With more black pigment than red, a spectrum of brown is bursting into our homes. Symbolising rich soil and clay, this shade is predicted to phase out the pink and reds we’ve been seeing for the past four years. Sink your feet into the dirt and let this shade sweep you off your feet. Pair with soft and sandy neutrals to create a space for light to illuminate spaces, with the dark nature of this shade it may become overbearing if not balanced correctly.
